How to assign a segment to a terminal

  1. Are you ready?

    In this tutorial we are going to learn how to assign a segment to a terminal. A segment is used to group terminals to download updates for these certain terminals particularly. It is used for cases when a specific update is required to be uploaded to several terminals that have the same update profile and an update with an experimental feature should be tested and is uploaded to the terminals that are used mostly for testing purposes.
    We will assign a segment for a terminal added in How to add a terminal tutorial.

    We will use the following parameters:
    Terminal ID: 003
    Update Profile: TestUpdate
    Segment: Test Segment
  2. Log in to the system using your Username and Password and switch to the Management => Terminal Perspective.

    Note: To learn how to log in and select perspectives, use the prerequisite tutorial Logging in and navigating the application.
  3. Select appropriate Merchant and Merchant Account in the top section of the screen.
  4. Select 003 in   Terminalsdropdown in the top section of the screen.
  5. Click   Parametersbutton
  6. Locate   Terminal Data  groupbox
  7. Click   Updatelabel next to the Update Profile textbox.
  8. Choose TestUpdate => Update Segment from the list.
  9. Click   Savebutton
  10. Congratulations, you are done!
